Hillswick Working Nursery
At our nursery site in Hillswick we grow tens of thousands of plants every year. The vast majority of the plants we sell are grown here from seed. Some plants, mainly shrubs, are propagated from cuttings, and only occasionally we bring in live plants for growing on.
We are always happy to see folk here in Hillswick, if you've never been before let us know, and we will give you a tour round and explain what is in the different tunnels and how we grow and propagate our plants.
Many of our customers like to just take their time exploring the tunnels. We have seats and benches placed around the site so you can take your time and just enjoy the plants.
Lerwick Garden Centre
At our Fort Road / Harbour Street site in Lerwick we stock a wide selection of our plants grown in Hillswick. We can't possibly fit everything we grow in Hillswick in to our site in Lerwick, so if we don't have the plant you are looking for, please ask and we will be happy to advise if we have it available in Hillswick.
In Lerwick we also stock a wider selection of garden supplies. We are also very happy to work with a range of Shetland based artists and craft people to offer some unique Shetland made household and garden items.

Sue manages our social marketing and maintains our labelling and stock systems. During peak season you will also find her out in the tunnels.

Carol has been growing plants here in Shetland all her life. Carol selects all the seeds and plants we grow and provides a wealth of local knowledge, ensuring you get the right plants for your garden.
James Titcomb, Partner
Building the tunnels, irrigation, and propagation systems, James also manages the web site and commerce systems.
